Congratulations to our dear customer and 8 week #1uptransformationchallenge participant Andre Dickerson @andre.m.dickerson on a fantastic transformation!
This is his story ๐
โ What led me to join this challenge was the fact that I did it last year. I did pretty good but I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it again and even better. During the challenge I felt very motivated and determined. I had my mind set on the end goal. This yearโs challenge was even more difficult due to the gyms getting closed down. I wasnโt going to give up on my training, so I went online to get resistance bands with a door anchor. I trained as best as I could with the bands. But to me it wasnโt enough. Once Texas began to slowly open up again. I went back to the gym because I had to get back on track and finish strong. I went to get a DEXA scan about a week after being back in the gym and I had found out that I had lost about 7 pounds of muscle. I was upset because even though I was doing the โfat lossโ goal, and I was in a caloric deficit I didnโt want to lose muscle. Itโs not impossible to build muscle while in a deficit but itโs very difficult. I was determined to attain a certain physique. I ended up gaining 5.6 pounds of my lost muscle back. Another mental battle that I had to face was that โpeak weekโ and my 24th birthday were in the SAME week. I had to suck it up and focus. I wasnโt going to ruin weeks of hard work in just one day. I stayed on track and finished strong. A few things that I learned are that you HAVE to stay consistent, determined and disciplined. Those are the keys to success. This challenge is an amazing experience, there are an amazing group of people in here. I love the 1 Up Nutrition community. If you think you want to do it.... you should! It will change your life for the better. Fitness not only helps you look and feel better, you will actually be a better and stronger person mentally and emotionally. For those of you starting your own fitness journey, just know it will be difficult but in the end it will be all worth it. If it were easy everyone would do it. Lastly, donโt compare your chapter 1 to someoneโs chapter 10 and do it for yourself!โ
