Appetite Suppressant 101

Weight loss is a common goal for millions of adults. Despite millions making the decision to lose fat, few achieve it, and even fewer maintain those results. One of the main reasons is due to feeling hungry.

Including enough protein, fiber, and healthy fats in your meals can help keep you feeling satisfied, even while dieting, but nevertheless, there will be times when you feel the desire to eat more.

Having a natural option to help hunger in check can be a real benefit in these moments.

Say hello to 1UP Appetite Suppressant!

1UP Appetite Suppressant Ingredients

1UP Appetite Suppressant is the culmination of natural appetite and weight loss support. Every serving contains research-backed ingredients, including Glucomannan, Caralluma Fimbriata, and CapsiMax, to help you stay on track, keep hunger in check, and achieve your goals!

Glucomannan (1,500mg)

Fiber plays a key role in digestive health, regularity, and appetite support. In fact, research shows that fiber helps to reduce appetite as well as food intake.[1]

However, significant portions of the population don’t regularly meet the recommended fiber intakes (14 grams per 1,000 calories eaten).

Dietary fiber is naturally abundant in plant foods, including fruits, veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes. It’s also present in supplements, including 1UP Fiber Plus.

Glucomannan is a water-soluble, fermentable fiber. It's a component of hemicellulose -- a polysaccharide found in plant cell walls. One of the big upsides to glucomannan is that it is incredibly viscous, making it particularly beneficial for weight loss. This means it helps delay stomach emptying, which contributes to increased satiety.[2]

Research also shows that it can help reduce bodyweight and improve certain markers of cardiometabolic health, including total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting blood glucose.[3,4]

Caralluma Fimbriata (350mg)

Caralluma fimbriata is an Indian edible cactus widely used in traditional medicine as an appetite suppressant and “famine food” (likely due to its hunger-suppressing properties).[5]

Early research in overweight found that caralluma may “...suppress appetite, and reduce waist circumference when compared to placebo over a 2 month period.”[6]

Other studies indicate that supplementing with caralluma may significantly reduce calorie intake from baseline compared to placebo (245 cal vs 15.8 cal respectively p < 0.01).[7] This reduced calorie intake was also found to lead to a reduction in waist circumference of 2.7cm compared to an increase of 0.3 cm in the placebo group.[7]

5-HTP (300mg)

5-HTP is the direct precursor to serotonin -- a neurotransmitter, most commonly associated with feelings of well-being. Neuroimaging studies have found that obesity is often associated with decreased serotonin signaling.[8]

Other studies note that serotonin administration helps reduce food intake.[9] A systematic review and meta-analysis appearing in The Lancet also state that medications that stimulate serotonin are effective aids for weight reduction.[10]

As a direct precursor to serotonin, 5-HTP helps naturally increase serotonin levels. Studies document that 5-HTP supplementation may help curb cravings and reduce appetite as well as inhibit the intake of calories from carbohydrates.[11,12,13]

CapsiMax (45mg)

Capsimax is the industry-leading patented red chili pepper extract on the market. One that provides a terrific stimulant-free weight management solution without the GI upset common to generic red pepper supplements.

Standardized for capsaicin (the pungent alkaloid in Chile peppers that give them their “bite”), Capsimax has been shown in studies to help boost metabolism, help burn fat and curb appetite.[14]

Specifically, Capsimax has shown to help individuals burn at least 6% more calories over a 4-hour period. And, in overweight individuals, Capsimax was able to increase metabolism and support burning of nearly 130 calories over a 4-hour period.[15]

Perhaps most surprisingly, supplementation with capsaicin has been found to increase strength! In fact, individuals takingcapsaicin increased upper body strength by 13.4% over a 6-week period compared to just a 5.6% increase when using placebo.[16]

Basically, CapsiMax offers 3 benefits in 1! It not only helps reduce appetite and increase daily energy expenditure (both of which support weight loss), it also helps improve workout performance!

Chromium (500mcg)

Chromium is a trace mineral that potentiates insulin action, which enhances glucose uptake by the cells. Proper insulin function is critical to nutrient partitioning, energy production, and cardiometabolic health. It’s also necessary for increased energy expenditure and workout performance.[17]

Intense exercise increases your body’s micronutrient needs, including chromium. This can be met through eating the right foods and/or using the right supplements.

How to Use 1UP Appetite Suppressant

For best results, we suggest taking four (4) capsules of 1UP Appetite Suppressant 1 hour before a meal in the AM or PM to curb appetite cravings.
