This is his story
“Like most who stumble upon competitions offering cash prizes I was a bit skeptical. However, with my health spiraling downward I decided to take a leap of faith and enter the 1UP Challenge. Turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. As a new father to a beautiful baby girl, moving into a new home and working full time, I knew my free time would be limited for the entirety of the challenge. The old me would make the excuse, "I just don't have the free time others have" and quit. But that was the old me.
Knowing this was a transformation competition, I wanted to lose weight, but also gain muscle at the same time. Sufficient protein intake played a huge role in this endeavor. I used 1UP ISO protein after every workout and also used the protein for my meal replacements after fasted cardio. Without the adequate amount of protein I knew I'd risk burning off muscle during intense cardio sessions.
As a new father, lack of sleep was by far the most difficult hurdle I had to overcome throughout the competition. This meant insanely odd gym hours and averaging 4 to 5 hours of sleep for the entire 8 week transformation. A lot of people would write this off as unhealthy or this guy's insane; but for me, it was simply determination to finish what I started. My solution to this problem was 1Up's pre-workout, something I've never tried before the competition. I assumed it made you jittery like an energy drink. Thankfully, that wasn't the case, it gave me crucial amounts of energy and seemed to make me laser-like focused through each set of weight training
For those hesitant about entering 1Up's future competitions my advice is simple, just go for it! You're given 24 hours each day like everyone else entering the competition; your success simply comes down to one small decision after another. Make enough correct decisions, then you may just surprise yourself with what you're able to accomplish!”
