Congratulations to our 2024 Summer 8 Week #1uptransformationchallenge Male 3rd place $4,000 cash prize winner Guillaume Albina @albinaguillaume

This is his story:

“When I was growing up I loved playing sports and working out on a regular basis. However, as I got older life caught up and I found myself focusing less and less on my physical health and more on the daily routines that life threw at me. Over time I really let myself go. Old age and a slower metabolism weren’t helping me at all.

A few months ago, one of my coworkers turned me on to the 1UP challenge and told me I should consider entering it since I always talked about wanting to get back in shape.

Overall the process of working out felt like an old habit. I had 2 of my co-workers training with me at 5 am before going to work and that kept me pretty motivated as far as the physical part of my transformation. I trained 4 – 5 days every week doing mostly weight lifting in the mornings and evening cardio.

Eating was the toughest part for me. The last 6 weeks I became addicted to BBQ chicken Korean wings. That was the hardest thing I had to overcome as I was consuming 18 pieces every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The diet discipline proved to be the hardest part of the entire ordeal for me. Thankfully I was using the fat burner supplements from 1Up Nutrition otherwise I can only imagine how much I would have gained without it.

I started at a weight of 215 lbs and dropped to 180 lbs over the course of the 8 weeks and felt great after dropping the weight. I’m sure I could have done better had I been more disciplined with my diet and I would highly recommend that anyone trying to lose weight find someone to keep them honest with their diet.

After everything, I realize it is not just wanting to get in shape but putting in the effort to actually make the change. Watching motivation videos on fitness during my cardio sessions kept me focused on sticking to the training so I’ll have to refocus on my eating habits especially with the holiday season meal offerings.“
