This is his story

My journey started 7 years ago. At my heaviest I was 470 lbs. I tried fad diets, different workouts, and even got to the point where I was eating so little that I couldn't stand up without almost passing out. I lost weight here and there but always gained it back. Those numbers on the scale, the high blood pressure, and person I saw in the mirror dragged me down daily and enough was enough. I stumbled upon 1UP Nutrition around a year ago while looking for supplements. I tried their BCAAs and protein first and was INSTANTLY hooked on the flavor and quality of both. I saw they had a transformation challenge starting in the summer and figured what the heck lets give it a try. I got going and lost a bit of weight but didn't fully stick to my diet and exercise for that first challenge. Time passed and I decided it was time to try again once the 2021 spring challenge rolled around because I had already laid the groundwork by working out 6 days per week and mostly dialing in my diet. As I got started, I fell into the routine of doing cardio, lifting, and tracking my calories but it was a daily challenge to make sure I kept on track and kept vigilant of the foods and activities that made me want to binge eat. I have always loved food and during this challenge discovered ways to still eat foods I love while staying in a caloric deficit by making things lower calorie at home or picking lower calorie options when eating out. My advice to any of you starting your journey is to weigh daily and take weekly averages of your weight. I learned just how much weight can fluctuate day to day and once per week doesn't always give you a good picture of your progress. The last and most important thing is to be kind to yourself. You're human and will trip up along the way and that's fine! Don't give up and don't beat yourself up because you're not alone! There are lots of us going through the same thing!
