This is her story
“I've always struggled with my weight. I'm that girl who has tried every fad or quick fix diet out there, at my heaviest, I weighed 244 pounds and the lowest I've ever weighed was 174 pounds. Working out has never really been the issue with me, I enjoy going to the gym and working out. What I eat and how much I eat was the problem. I came across the 1UP Transformation Challenge on Instagram and thought to myself why not give it a try especially since my calories and macros were already calculated for me, plus I got a list of foods to eat and how much to have I thought to myself this is perfect for me. During the challenges (because I have participated in more than one) it was hard for me to eat whole healthy foods like rice, and potatoes because all you hear now is how carbs are bad for you. But since I have been doing the challenges I've learned that carbs fuel your body and give you energy, and that all foods can contribute to weight gain when over eaten. I am not perfect with my eating habits but I no longer cut out certain food groups or beat myself up if I have a cookie, but I do have a better understanding of what I put in my body. I've learned that I can enjoy certain foods in moderation, this challenge has also shown me that I do not have to do an hour of cardio 7 days a week to lose weight, which is what I have done in the past. Weight Loss, fat loss, and even gaining muscle all takes time; there are no quick fixes. Everyone is different. You have to find what works for you, if you enjoy running go for that run, if you enjoy swimming go for a swim, just move your body and try to stay active. I've learned to love myself and just enjoy the journey.”
