This is her story:

 

Joining the 1Up Challenge was a decision born out of a desire for change. I had been feeling stagnant in my fitness journey, and honestly self conscious with my image after having my beautiful baby boy. The last two years took a huge toll on my physical appearance. In December 2022, I was in the hospital literally fighting for my life. My kidneys failed me, and my heart was restarted 11 times in one month! The end result was a year of several medications, one being prednisone.

 

After a year of prednisone, I gained over 30lbs and weighed more than I had in my entire life at 187lb. Throughout this time I had a hard time getting into the gym due to ongoing health issues that constantly kept me down. Then I got pregnant and came off of prednisone. My body took more of a hit physically and I then made the decision it’s time to flip the script.

 

The challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity to push myself further and achieve new goals. Once I started to see changes in my body that fed my discipline to continue further once the motivation wore off. The supportive community offered by 1UP was exactly what I needed.

 

Throughout the challenge, I experienced a whirlwind of emotions. Initially, I was excited and motivated, but as the weeks went on, there were moments of doubt and fatigue. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was maintaining consistency amidst a busy schedule and spending time with my baby boy. There were days when squeezing in a workout felt impossible, but I learned the importance of prioritizing my health and making time for it no matter what.

 

One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the significance of small, consistent efforts. It wasn’t about making drastic changes overnight, but rather about making sustainable choices daily.

 

My biggest tip would be to stay patient and trust the process. Results may not come immediately, but every effort counts and contributes to your progress!
