"For over 20 years, I've struggled with my weight and my relationship with food. I've tried just about every diet imaginable. Keto, carnivore, Mediterranean, every fad diet and quick fix you can think of. You name it, I've probably tried it.
But the truth is, I never fully committed.
I could stick to something for a few days, maybe even a week, but eventually I'd give in. A cheat meal, a snack, a drink, or convincing myself I deserved a break. Then I'd tell myself I'd start fresh on Monday. It was a cycle I repeated for years.
As a wife, mom, and business owner, I spent so many years making sure everyone else was taken care of that somewhere along the way, I stopped making myself a priority. My days revolved around everyone else's needs, responsibilities, and schedules. There was always something or someone that came before me.
Then life reached a point where so many things around me were changing, and I felt like I had lost control of everything I had always known.
And that's when something finally clicked.
I realized I couldn't control everything happening around me, but I could control the promises I made to myself.
So I made one. I was finally going to show up for myself, no matter what.
It wasn't easy. There were days I had zero motivation, days I missed my favorite foods, and days I questioned whether it was even worth it. But this time, I didn't quit.
I started planning my meals every Sunday, ordering groceries for pickup to avoid impulse buying, and making workouts part of my routine. Eventually, what once required so much discipline started becoming a habit.
And for the first time in a long time, I started feeling like myself again.
One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that consistency matters so much more than perfection. If you slip up, don't wait until tomorrow or Monday to start over. Pick right back up with your very next choice. One bad meal doesn't erase all your hard work unless you let it.
I entered this challenge not even knowing if I'd finish it, let alone place third! And here I am, 25 pounds lighter, stronger, healthier, and more confident than I've felt in years.
But my biggest accomplishment isn't the weight I've lost or placing in the competition.
It's that after 20 years of starting over, I finally stopped giving up on myself.
If my story inspires even one person who's spent years putting themselves last, I hope it's a reminder that it's never too late to choose yourself.
You deserve the same love, effort, and commitment you've spent years giving to everyone else."
