I’ve participated in 1UP challenges before, so I already knew how much these challenges could push me. But this challenge was different. I joined because I wanted to challenge myself again, not just physically, but mentally. I wanted to prove to myself that I could keep showing up, even when life got busy and motivation wasn’t always there.
And let me tell you…this journey was NOT perfect. There were days I felt strong and motivated, and there were days I felt tired, frustrated, and discouraged. I dealt with plateaus, fluctuations, low-energy days, work, family, my cycle, and plenty of moments where the scale did not reflect the effort I knew I was putting in.
But that became one of my biggest lessons: progress isn’t always measured by the scale. Sometimes it’s how your clothes fit. Sometimes it’s your strength, endurance, confidence, or simply the fact that you kept going when you wanted to quit.
I learned that consistency really is more powerful than perfection. I learned to give myself grace without giving up on myself. And I learned that discipline doesn’t mean you never struggle, it means you keep choosing yourself through the struggle.
Finishing 4th place means so much to me because I know everything that happened behind the scenes that nobody else could see. I’m proud of the work, the growth, and most importantly, the fact that I stayed committed to myself.
To anyone starting their fitness journey: PLEASE don’t wait until you feel motivated. Start where you are. Take the pictures. Track the progress. Celebrate the small wins. Have the bad days and then get back up. Your journey will not be perfect, and it doesn’t have to be.
Keep showing up. Keep believing in yourself. And remember, you’re not just working toward a different body, you’re building a stronger version of YOU.
Thank you @1upnutrition for another challenge that pushed me, reminded me of my strength, and gave me another reason to keep going.
