This is her story:

My name is Marleen and I wear many hats. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a
teacher, a pet sitter and a friend. I started following 1 UP Nutrition a while back after coming across a success story and realizing that the winner was the mother of one of my dearest students. I knew I was going to join this challenge one day.

My family and I decided to move, and things didn't go as planned. I was the only financial
provider for my family and this was a stressful period. The financial and emotional challenges made me not take care of myself and only focus on the wellbeing of those I love. That's how I reached my heaviest weight. At that point, I told myself I needed to prioritize myself and I did.

I entered the challenge feeling excited because I started the year committed to my promise. The New Years 2026 challenge felt like a roller coaster. Some days I was motivated and ready to push myself, while other days I felt tired from my job and side hustles or simply not in the mood. But my mindset stayed the same: “I can and I will”. I prayed to the Almighty to give me strength and kept going.

This experience taught me to trust in the process. Losing all the fat accumulated over time will take time to burn but 1 Up Nutrition provides the opportunity to challenge yourself to become better, not only physically but also mentally. The community is amazing, full of support and people rooting for you even if they don't know you. I've learned not to rely only on the scale.

Taking pictures and measurements of your body provides great feedback on how your body is truly changing. Also, listening to the wisdom of my coaches and following their
recommendations for training and for appropriate supplementation played a key role.

The greatest lesson for me was realizing that I stayed strong even when I thought I couldn't. Even when situations out of my control came up, consistency in my training and good nutrition helped me reach this goal, and I proved to myself that I can do it!

If you are starting your journey to become better allow me to recommend my top tips. First, look at your schedule and block time for your workouts and meal prep. Second, keep your mindset positive and be kind to yourself. Third, be patient, change will come if you stay committed and consistent with this process. Believe in yourself, surround yourself with people that support you but most importantly, count on yourself. The competition is against you, and that, my friend, is the real challenge. I invite you to get out of your comfort zone and try it, you won't regret it. I am so grateful I was allowed to share my story and I hope I inspired you to accept a challenge for becoming better, having a healthier lifestyle and maintaining a positive mindset. Once you start
