“I first got into weight lifting my freshman year of college. The reason I started going to the gym was because I was a three-sport athlete all through High School and I wanted to have a way to stay active in college. I was also all of 145 pounds with little to no muscle on me, so I wanted to put on some muscle to gain some confidence. Ever since I started I’ve been hooked!
.
Fitness has taught me so much. It has taught me that nothing good in life comes easy. It has also taught me that if I consistently put in the hard work day in and day out that there is nothing I can’t accomplish. My fitness journey has made me a stronger person and has given me the will power and confidence to get through any situation life might throw at me.

For anyone starting out, the number one thing I would tell them is that it’s okay to feel out of place. It’s okay to feel embarrassed that you don’t know how to workout. It’s okay that you don’t look like the person across the room that has been doing this for years. I can promise you that you will grow so much as a person if you stay committed, and I guarantee that all aspects of your life (relationships, finances, energy levels, etc.) will improve if you make fitness a part of your life. “
