This is her story
“I have participated in this challenge three times, but this is the first time I’ve completed it! I knew this time would be different. Aside from wanting to have the best overall transformation, I wanted to do my best to carve a path for lifelong health, and unlearn the unhealthy habits I’ve picked up over the last 20 years. During this challenge, I learned that I could overcome my anxiety, defeat my eating disorders of extreme yo-yo dieting, and fall in love with exercise that feels good to me instead of forced. I can confidently say, the best thing you can do for yourself to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be, is to drink MORE water, do MORE movement that you ENJOY (key word), and eat MORE fruits and vegetables alongside the other foods you love. These are the three things that have helped me stay consistent and make the most progress mentally and physically. I did not restrict myself from eating anything, I just worked on re-training myself on my hunger cues, portions, and not over-eating. Although I never stepped foot in a gym once, I was able to incorporate my own body weight, dumb bells, and compound movements and distance into my daily exercise and routines. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. You can make one small change at a time until it becomes a habit. I didn’t think 8 weeks would be enough for me to re-train my brain and my body to do this. I thought my auto-immune disease and hypothyroidism would stall me; but I didn’t let it! I changed my overall mind-set, and in turn, changed my life! I was able to accomplish all of this while still being a present wife and mother, all while working two jobs. If I can, you can too!”
