Congratulations to our 2021 New Years 8 Week #1uptransformationchallenge Female 1st place $10,000 cash prize winner Elizabeth Arnold @transformwithliz
This is her story
“Before joining the 1UP Transformation Challenge, I was at the highest weight I'd ever been. My clothes didn't fit anymore and I could no longer button my
loosest pair of jeans. I was so low mentally. My self-confidence had been crushed by my weight gain and I was terrified of seeing friends and family again knowing that they would see how much weight I had put on. I knew that everything was going to open up in California eventually, and I didn't want to let my weight gain stand in the way of enjoying life. Most of all, I wanted to be able to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
Completing this challenge was mentally and physically tough, and has been one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences I've ever had. Sticking to my nutrition and workout plan was not always easy. I didn't always feel like hitting the gym before and after work, or passing on the takeout my boyfriend would order. I even slipped up a couple times, went over my calories or skipped a workout. But I never let these slip-ups snowball out of control because I knew that at the end of the day if I got right back on track, I would reach my goal.
These 8 weeks have taught me that if I stick with my plan and put in the work, I can achieve anything I put my mind to! I realize now that every day is a new opportunity to make good choices. I'm already planning for the next challenge and I can't wait to make even more progress! If you’re just staring your journey, just know the effort is 100% worth it!
My biggest piece of advice would be to not beat yourself up over a slip up, or throw in the towel because of one bad day. I used to think my day was "ruined" if I didn't eat the healthiest choices or get in my full workout, so I would just give up. Any effort is better than none! In the long run your effort adds up, so give it your personal best and you will be able to change your life and become better!
