This is his story:
I joined the 1UP Nutrition Transformation Challenge at a time when I needed it most. 2025 was a tough year for me. I got injured, lost motivation, and honestly just fell off track. I wasn’t where I wanted to be physically or mentally, and I knew I needed something to push me again.
Once I started, I began to feel like myself again. Not just because of the physical changes, but because I was building consistency and discipline back into my routine. There were definitely tough days, especially early on, but showing up anyway made the biggest difference.
One thing that really stood out to me was the Facebook group and the community. Seeing everyone step out of their comfort zone, share their progress, and support each other kept me motivated and reminded me that I wasn’t doing this alone.
Along the way, I had to break out of that all or nothing mindset. I had to remind myself that progress isn’t always perfect and that small wins add up over time. I also had to work around past injuries and be smarter with my training instead of just going all out.
This experience taught me that consistency beats everything. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to keep showing up. Once my mindset shifted, everything else started to fall into place.
Overall, this was more than just a physical transformation for me. It helped me rebuild habits, confidence, and structure in my life. It also meant a lot to be able to show up better for my family and set that example for my kids. If I could give any advice to someone just starting, it would be to focus on building habits you can stick to and not rush the process. Trust it and stay consistent.
At 44, this just shows it’s never too late to turn things around.
